“Why are you being so stubborn? If you want to research Scotland, you could do that in another highland village, or lowland for that matter.”

“Let's just say that someone has told me this village needs me.”

He grunted. “Needs you I would say like a hole in the head.”

“How very civilized of you,” she muttered. Shivering again, she reached inside of her purse for her digital camera. Positioning it correctly, she was about to snap a picture of the man in front of her when he disappeared.

“Shit!” She muttered, tossing her camera back into her purse. She'd had him just where she wanted him, and he'd played the part of mouse to her cat. “I know you're still here,” she called out, hoping to bring him back into the open. Moving forward, she nearly slid in the sticky mud that was on the ground. Two sets of footprints were on the wood floor. One set was hers, and the other was his.

A cool breeze buffeted past her, causing her to shiver. “I know you are here. Stop hiding from me!” She thumped her foot against the floor, and then was rewarded when he emerged from the shadows.

“Why do you persist in torturing me?” His voice held a dangerous edge.

She shivered. “I've done nothing,” She murmured innocently, moving toward him. She could see a muscle twitching in his cleanly shaven cheek.

“You did everything when you came to this village. Must I ask you again to leave?”

“I've told you already that I won't leave.” Her voice held conviction, and she tilted her head as he let out a hollow sigh. “Even though almost every door in the village has turned me away, I will not be turned off. I flew across the Atlantic for this, and a pleading, sniveling man like you, isn't going to stop me.”

Twilight's_Kiss “What did you say?” He raged. He jumped over the short distance to her, and grabbed her by the shoulders. His eyes filled with a reckless abandon. His hood fell back, and she saw for the first time that he was young. Startled, her head whipped back.

“Let me go.” She stared bravely at him, waiting for something that even she couldn't explain. His grip softened, as something changed within him. It was almost as if another force had entered his body for a few seconds.

“Get out,” he growled.

“Get out, yourself,” she retorted hotly. “In case you haven't noticed this is a church. You don't own it.” He took his hands off of her, and wiped them on his cloak. “Since you seem to know so much, why did a woman scream when I knocked on the pub door?”

“She did what?” His voice was hoarse, and his breath was shallow. He clenched his hands tightly at his sides.

“She screamed. Howled like a banshee, actually.”

She was unprepared for his stoic visage to break into a smile. Smiling, he was actually handsome, but when he looked the other way, he almost seemed gruesome and threatening.

“That's Mary for you,” he murmured. “What do you expect? It's nearly midnight, or the witching hour, as it's thought of around here. The people here are quite a superstitious lot.”

“To the point of being loony,” she muttered, dropping her eyes to the floor. “So since you've already had your hands on me, are you going to tell me who you are?”

He stiffened. “The thought of having my hands all over you is not repulsive. But until then, you will not learn of my name. Not from me anyway.” He lifted his hands off of her shoulders, and dropped them to his side. It was then that she saw something slung across his shoulder. It was a backpack.

“What do you have that for?” Her question caught him off guard. He perused her intently, and then shrugged.

Twilight's_Kiss “None of your damn business.” He strode away from her toward the door.

“You are the most impossible man I've ever met.”

“And you are the most idiotic woman I've ever met.” With that, he left the church, and closed the door quietly behind him.

Twilight's Kiss...A Fantastic Paranormal...

Twilight's Kiss is a delightful novel that is the perfect blend of darkness and light. Marly Mathews creates an endearing supporting cast of characters that you will love just as much as the hero and heroine. But the hero and heroine definitely hold their own, and you find yourself becoming more and more attached to them with every turn of the page. You'll desperately want a happy ending for Sean and Bridget, so much you just want to jump in and wring their necks until they confess their love for each other! Marly Mathews has written a fantastic paranormal with animated characters, a suspenseful plot, and one emotional love story! In Twilight's Kiss, see what happens when a vampire and a Faerie princess fall in love- it's nothing short of magical! - Mandy, Rogues and Romance

Twilight's Kiss given a top pick rose from Romance Reader at Heart!

Fairy magic and vampire lore combine to make TWILIGHT'S KISS, by Marly Mathews, a fascinating and exciting paranormal romance that I found totally enthralling. The emotions are strong as two compelling characters find themselves drawn together by destiny. A woman known as a Huntress of Hell—a fairy vampire hunter—fights her attraction for a vampire that only wants to be freed from his curse.

Fairy Princess and Huntress of Hell, Bridget is a fascinating character with amazing magic and skills. Mild mannered romance novelist by day and strong vampire hunter at night, she is responsible for a lot of the wonderful and exciting action that occurs throughout the story. Her attraction to Sean leads to frustration as she finds herself wanting to give in to the draw between them. At times, she made me angry as she denied her feelings, but her internal battle also made me feel sad for her. Sean is the gallant hero fighting for his very soul. Handsome, strong, protector of the innocent, he is the man that has everyone wanting him to find his salvation. The fear that at any minute he may snap and give in to his vampire instincts or take the life of someone close to him, adds an edgy tension to the story. His arrogant ways and the way he expects people to follow his orders give the story a feeling of a different era, alluding to the time he began his tortured existence. I quickly become attached to this character, as he fought so hard against his instincts and as he continued to hope that his salvation would come.

A fascinating tale, TWILIGHT'S KISS is a wonderful romance that captivates as it spins its magical tale of love and destiny. Exciting vampire staking action and many surprises makes TWILIGHT'S KISS a book you can't put down. It also makes it easy to recommend this book to everyone that enjoys passion and excitement. - Anita Hartsell, Romance Reader At Heart

Twilight's Kiss given Five Lips at Two Lips Reviews!

Twilight's Kiss is a delightful and satisfying paranormal romance with intriguing and unexpected veins of paranormal elements woven in. Deep in rich descriptive background, the novel entices and enthralls its readers. The characters are fully delineated, even to many of the secondary ones. A strong-willed and independent heroine matched against a long-lived and determined hero with deep, dark secrets and vulnerabilities make for a tale to satisfy the tastes of most any reader. Kudos to author Marly Mathews for an excellent read which earns its place on the Keeper Shelf. Reviewed by Frost of Two Lips Reviews

Twilight's Kiss was a paranormal story with so many elements - vampires, a curse, fairies and even elves. There is a large cast of characters that were fully developed, and that I worried about as the battle loomed. I adored the interaction between Sean and his several times removed niece Grace. She definitely kept him on his toes, and he adored her. The slow build up of the romance between Bridget and Sean was believable, especially considering Bridget thought all vampires should be destroyed, and Sean was uncertain whether Bridget was the answer to the prophecy. There were times that it felt as if the story jumped, and the ending does leave a couple unresolved storylines. Overall, I adored Twilight's Kiss and eagerly await what I hope will be a sequel or two. Kathy Andrico - KathysReviewCorner.com

Twilight's Kiss given 5 Hearts from The Romance Studio!

Marly Mathews has written a humorous, suspenseful tale of villagers turned vampire slayers. They all know of Lord Sean’s affliction, love him still. Ms. Mathews does a great job building her characters. Bridget, Sean, Grace, Father Clancy, Mary, Rupert, Iris all come alive under her pen.

This is a fun tale with some suspenseful twists from beginning to end. Ms. Mathews writes some of the best dialogue and scenarios around. Sean is such a powerful but loveable guy I just couldn’t help hoping with the rest of the village that Bridget would just say the words and save them both from heartache. It’s a great book with a nice little twist at the end to make it even better. Reviewed by Dee Dailey from The Romance Studio
