 Dark Phoenix was named a PNR Staff Top Pick!
Dark Phoenix has a riveting hero, dark and menacing villain, a super heroine and strong secondary characters. This author was able to bring alive the desert planet, make you feel the arid setting, the heat. But the real heat is between Garrett and Alora! I highly recommend this read for someone wanting a fresh voice in paranormal romance. Reviewed by Deborah Macgillivray.

Dark Phoenix is a dramatic action packed page turner. Once the first page is opened you are instantly transported to a desert planet not fit for human kind, it is so well written your mouth will parch. I felt as if I was part of the story, like a ghost unseen in each scene. Literally, in my mind’s eye I could see the action, the jarring of the battles vibrated my seat, the seductive caresses of the love shared between the characters made me yearn to curl up next to someone special. Ms. Matthews has definitely did it again she brings her audience into her world and if most are like me they will want to stay there a while.

An amazing setting, an interesting cast of secondary characters and a truly scary villain make DARK PHOENIX an excellent story. Ms. Mathews has done a phenomenal job creating her universe, making a very entertaining and absorbing read. The attraction between Alora and Garrett was almost volcanic, but she was strong enough to stay true to herself instead of just letting him walk all over her. Garrett was a truly fascinating character, because he had so much goodness and compassion in him, but he was still capable of the more human emotions. The other characters, especially Ace and Matilda helped to make the story so much more interesting. All in all, DARK PHOENIX was a very good read! Reviewed by Beth Foster
